Developed in the nineteenth century by local grandee George Burt Durlston was taken over by the county council in the 1970s. Victorian tourist attractions include the 40 ton Great Globe and a carved stone map of The English Channel. The castle is now the Lookout Café where we stop for morning tea and coffee.
